Imagine Owning Just the Clothes on Your Back

You Helped Us Bring Hope to Refugees!

ugandacamp2Can you imagine owning nothing but the clothes on your back?  John and his children are living today in a refugee camp in Uganda filled with hopelessness.  After recent training, a church planter named Joseph came to share the love of Christ and the hope that is Him.  Now John and his family belong to a group of believers who are reaching out and bringing that same love and compassion to other refugees.  Hope really does change everything!  Joseph said, “Your help and training have prepared us to share Christ’s love and bring them dignity in the midst of  their incredible hardship.  Thank you.

Your Prayers Sustain Us in Time of Personal Need.  Thank you!

Most of you know by now that God interrupted my trip to Africa with an unexpected emergency back home with our 22-year old son, Tim.  It has been heart-warming to see prayer rise out of the four corners of the earth, from Africa to Asia to home and the miraculous results that continue to come from this.  Thank you!  (You can find background on this here and here).

Appleseed as Your Family & Community

One take-away from this month’s personal challenges is our desire that you become even more of a family and community to us.  We do NOT want to be just an “organization.”  Appleseed has a mission to the most vulnerable people on the planet.  This mission, however, is most fruitful when it grows out of family and community—supportive relationships with you, and close relationships between you and those whom you help us serve in Africa and other needy places.

You are not “supporters” to us but you are individuals whom we have the privilege of loving and serving together with.

As one aspect of this, I (Roger) used a 10-day prayer model that I believe God gave me as we walked through our personal emergency.  If you are facing a challenging situation or want to pursue intentional prayer for direction, I would not only like to share this with you but also join you in your time of prayer.  For more information, take a look here.
