Increasing Your Joy in 2013

I often view the New Year as a time to re-set my compass toward those things that truly bring the deep joy that God has for me.

I find myself asking these kinds of questions:

  1. What can I do to deepen the healing of my heart where I have experienced loss or disappointment? My past need not keep me from today's joys!
  2. How can I press into a deeper relationship with God? What's my part? His presence is the only satisfying fountain that deeply fulfills.
  3. What has God made me for that I can invest more time in? What are my passions and spiritual gifts that can be more fully activated? I know no greater joy than that which comes from partnering with God in His purposes.

Life is often hard. And many of the people that Brooks and I spend time with are dealing with some of the most difficult possible issues: poverty, abuse, loss of dignity.

But I am struck by the fact that every person on earth, despite what we deal with, has access to the profound presence of God and the corresponding peace, comfort, and even joy that He longs to pour into our spirits.

May we all receive so much more of HIM during this coming year!

And thank you so much for joining us in the fulfilling work of pouring into the lives of people in need!
