Update on Liberty School Director's Accident

John WanyonyiJohn Wanyonyi, director of Liberty School in Bikeke, Kenya, was in a serious motorcycle accident late last month. Besides other injuries, one of his legs had multiple fractures.

Thanks to several of you who responded immediately, we made sure that John received the best care available.

He was in the hospital for ten days while the doctors allowed the swelling to go down before setting the leg.

You help change a woman… and thus a community

From our travel blog posted last week by Brooks (go to www.appleseedtravel.com)

EstherNearing the end of our time in Tanzania doing trainings, one woman who had been silent for three days suddenly stood. She spoke clearly, confidently, securely in her message of conviction and hope to those around her. Esther was her name. She announced that because of what her husband had been taught he came to her repenting and apologizing with true humility. By profession he was "a man of God" and very important (in his own eyes) … so important that he left his family to fend for themselves while he abandoned them to do "God's work." The wife and the children did not have money; they did not have food. He would go out in the name of ministry, take tea in a hotel with white people or other men, while the family is only suffering. He would travel to faraway places under the guise of preaching "God's Word," while abandoning all responsibilities at home.

Can you envision a young addict finding Christ?

As we travel in Africa over the next two months, you help us provide training for new movements. The result is that the young man who has given up any hope of a better life, who has turned to addiction, finds a way out and a new life. The result is a woman who has been so abused that she has given up on happiness finds freedom, faith and dignity.

Your vision to see lives changed makes this possible as you pray and stand with us in our travels:
