New Classrooms for School/Orphanage

February 23, 2012

Two new classrooms are under construction because of the way you have stood with us.  This means more children will be rescued, helped, and lifted!

Liberty School, in Bikeke, Kenya, is moving forward with the next phase of construction.  There have been challenges such as contractors trying to change their bids and the bore hole running out of water when needed for making bricks.  But the tenacious, committed director and staff, along with many volunteers, have persevered.  As of this writing, the roof is beginning to take shape on the newest classrooms.

He Hadn't Eaten for 3 Days!

May 29, 2011

IMG_2986 (Small)We learned how important our new "sponsor a child" program is when we visited the school in Bikeke, Kenya last week:

Joel hadn’t eaten! The teacher told us of this young boy coming to class two weeks ago acting listless and unable to focus.  When she questioned him, he told her that he had not eaten for three days.  The school was able to take him out of class and feed him immediately.

When you join us in sponsoring 12 more children, the school in Kenya will be able to provide a daily meal for every destitute child in the school!

School You Are Helping Build Gets HIGH Marks!

You might imagine that a new school which can barely afford to pay its teachers would not perform well.  But the district-wide tests have shown that the children at Liberty School are performing at that the very top of all schools!  The district has honored the school for this performance!  Last year you helped provide the land and first structures.  With your help this school will continue to develop and rescue children from destitute lives.

You're Impacting One Child, One Woman, One Leader

April 27, 2011

We are back to Africa this month where you are helping us impact...
one child, one woman, and one leader at a time!

006 (Small)You're Impacting THIS Child...

Enock is 13-years-old and living with his grandmother as his guardian.  He has four siblings who cannot afford to attend school because of the grandmother’s age and lack of income.  You are helping us change his life and that of his brothers and sisters as the school’s construction continues and sponsors are found for each one!

You're Impacting THIS Woman... (okay 12 women)...

Twelve new students for the Women’s Center are being selected whom we will meet when we visit.  Twelve women who have lived without hope and, often, despairing for how to care for their children.  Twelve women whom you are helping us give the opportunity to learn a sewing skill, care for their family, and live with dignity.
